When compiling the following tourist programmes our goal was to present to you our natural, built and cultural heritage, in the most colourful, exciting way possible, putting special emphasis on local values and the multicultural aspect of the region.
Our programmes start at 9 in the morning and – depending on the length of the given activities – they end earlier or later in the afternoon.

The price of the packages includes in each case the transportation, the parking fees and the tour guide, but it does not include the entrance fees. No item on the programme is compulsory, everyone can decide for themselves if they want to pay the fee for a specific activity. Sachsenland 1. – The old town of Sighișoara – Viscri and its fortified church – Saschiz

Details:
Would you like to get acquainted with the Sachsen world, to which Transylvania owes so much in terms of built heritage, culture and history?
Let us discover the intimate and exciting old town of Sighișoara, which is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1999. During our travels we will get to know the hidden world of Viscri and we will admire its wonderful fortified church. The fortified church of Saschiz is also on our route and we will admire it from outside. Upon request we will also visit the peasant fortress in Saschiz. On our way back we will admire the fishing lakes of Sânpaul.

Sachsenland 2. – The old town of Sighișoara – Viscri and its fortified church – Saschiz

Details:
The breathtaking sites of Sachsenland are not just in the region of Sighișoara, but also near us. Get to know the wonderful old centre of Brașov, its medieval walls and bastions. Visit the Black Church, Transylvania’s biggest Gothic church and its collection of rugs and listen to its stories. To get a full picture, we will visit the most beautiful fortified church in the region, the one in Prejmer, which is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage, and we will also take a walk in the peasant fortress in Râșnov.

Land of Volcanoes – Saint Anne’s Lake – Mohos peat bog – Puciosul (Stinky Mountain) sights

Details:
Romania’s youngest mountain range, the Csomád Mountain will be the site of this special trip. We will visit Europe’s most beautiful volcanic lake, named after Saint Anne and the Mohos peat bog that has the most amazing flora. After that we will go for a walk on the Puturosu (Stinky Mountain), where we will have the opportunity to watch, and for the brave to even try out the traditional healing methods provided by the mountain itself, since the post-volcanic activity created numerous springs and mofettas in the surroundings. For wellness lovers, the package can include an afternoon relaxation at the Grand Santerra Spa, in the famous spa centre of the Bálványos Resort. Depending on the group’s pace a shorter/longer hike can be included in the programme.

Land of Salt – Praid – Corund – Sovata

Details:
This excursion revolves around an essential mineral, one that had an immense value even in Antiquity, namely salt. We will visit a salt mine which is very beneficial for various health problems, during a short tour in the Valley of Salt we will see interesting natural formations created due to the presence of salt, and we will also visit Corund, the home of Transylvanian pottery. Here we will be familiarised with the technique of the throwing-wheel, and also with a mineral called aragonite, its history and the objects made from it, a mineral which is perhaps not as well-known, but it is very special, nevertheless. Upon request we can visit the workshops of different crafts: from the tinder craftsman to the weaving lady.

If the group wishes to take a swim instead of visiting the salt mine, then Lacul Ursu (the Bear Lake), Europe’s largest heliothermic lake can also be visited.
There are a lot of possibilities in the Land of Salt and we will put together the perfect excursion based on the preferences of the group.

Land of Woods

The Land of Woods lies in our immediate vicinity, which hides many treasures for all of us, from the built heritage through the traditional crafts, to the wonderful nature. We have two different programmes in the Land of Woods, and we would like to find the most appropriate one depending on whether you want to go on a more active programme, or you would prefer a more relaxing trip. In both cases, at the end of the day you can try the wellness centre of Hotel Castle Daniel from Tălișoara.

Land of Woods 1 – Hiking in the Vargyas Gorge – furniture painting, watermill, the traditional loom and snacks

Details:
The day starts with trying out different traditional arts and crafts, we will watch how the amazing painted furniture is made in Vârghiș at the Sütő family’s house, after which we will go on a hike in the Vargyas Gorge, one of the Seven Wonders of Covasna county. In order to relax a bit before the way home, we will have a snack, try out different local products and visit a local watermill and familiarise ourselves with how the locals have been weaving for centuries.

Catering to the needs of those who do not wish to go for hikes, but nevertheless want to be able to learn about the traditional arts and crafts, in this package we also present a few craftsmen and their work, but this time we will make our day more interesting by visiting the Kálnoky Castle in Micloșoara. When it comes to crafts, we will visit the local blacksmith and will be able to discover the mysteries of the world-famous kürtőskalács, also known as chimney cake. Upon request, visiting the watermill in Bățanii Mici will be also possible.

Covasna County – Târgu Secuiesc, Guild Museum – Saint Emeric’s Church of Ghelința – Flat iron Museum of Arcuș

We devised a busy programme to give you some insight into the mysteries of Covasna County (the historic name of which is Háromszék or Three Chairs county) – inviting you to learn about our beautiful county, since one day is not enough to discover it.
We will start in Târgu Secuiesc, visiting the town’s centre, cluttered with courts, and the Guild Museum, being able to get acquainted with the history of the different crafts, their predecessors, and a collection of hundreds of dolls, most of them being dressed in traditional costumes. From here, we will travel to Ghelința, where we will visit a fortified church from the 14th century, decorated with murals, but before that we will have a walk on the Perkő Hill, visiting the Saint Stephen’s Chapel, our county’s pilgrimage site. Last, but not least, we will stop in Arcuș to see a small museum cluttered with flat irons, where we will get to find out a lot of interesting information, test our knowledge and maybe taste some of the local specialties.

Cycling – An active programme of traditional activities

Would you prefer something more active? Let’s conquer the surroundings by bike! We prepared a 43 km route for the sport enthusiasts, during which we can learn about the nearby attractions such as a functioning watermill. We will cycle to Valea Zălanului, the most hidden village of the area, which although is difficult to access, Prince Charles regularly visits it. Here we will see a traditional house and drink some tea from auntie Piroska’s herbal collection. On the way, upon request, we will visit Bățanii Mici to see the watermill and have lunch in Valea Zălanului.

Visiting a sheepfold on a traditional cart – Riding a traditional cart, familiarising yourself with the pastures, meat roasting, tasting

Have you ever seen how the shepherds live on the pastures, tasted urdă (whey cheese) and do you remember when was the last time you sat on a traditional cart? It is time to try it out again! And you will not starve, since a good meat roasting is also included in the programme, and it includes other homemade and traditional culinary specialties.
